NYU Statistics Club is organizing an end of year event — Applied Statistics Showcase and Reception on May 11 5-7pm at Pless Hall 3rd floor (82 Washington Square E).
The event is open to anyone interested in the use of data for social good. There will be students from the applied statistics program presenting their recent data analyses projects in the form of a poster/laptop session. Topics of the projects include: use of data for health, natural disaster, tech, reproducibility, and music.
After that, there will be a Q&A session (together with pizza, brownies, and margarita) for applied statistics faculty to talk about their career and views of using data for addressing social problems.
This is going to be a super relaxed and fun event for anyone interested in wrangling with data to get together and learn from each other. We hope you will be able to stop by!
