Topics covered include: creating and editing data sets, computing and recoding variables and an introduction to syntax.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#sas-introduction\" target=\"_blank\"><b>SAS Introduction<\/b><\/a><br \/>\nAn introduction to the SAS data analysis package. Topics covered include: creating and editing data sets, computing and recoding variables and an introduction to proc commands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#stata-introduction\" target=\"_blank\"><b>STATA Introduction<\/b><\/a><br \/>\nAn introduction to the STATA data analysis package. Topics covered include: creating and editing data sets, computing and recoding variables and an introduction to basic commands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><b><a href=\"https:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#matlab-introduction\" target=\"_blank\">MATLAB Introduction<\/a><\/b><br \/>\nMATLAB is a high-level technical computing language and interactive environment for algorithm development, data visualization, data analysis, and numeric computation. This introductory tutorial will touch upon managing code, files, and data and will show some simple design and problem solving.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#hpc-introduction\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Getting Started with HPC<\/b><\/a><br \/>\nIf you work with extremely large data files or wait hours for your quantitative computations to complete, you may be interested in learning about NYU&#8217;s High Performance Computing (HPC) resources. Topics covered will include: acquiring accounts, available software, basic Linux, logging into the clusters, storing files, moving files, submitting jobs and monitoring jobs.<\/p>\n<h4>Mapping\/GIS software<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#an-introduction-to-arcgis\" target=\"_blank\"><b>ArcGIS &#8211; Introduction<\/b><\/a><br \/>\nAn introduction to GIS map making using the ESRI ARCView software.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#arcgis-geocoding\" target=\"_blank\"><b>ArcGIS &#8211; Geocoding<\/b><\/a><br \/>\nAn introduction translating addresses to map coordinates with latitude and longitude using the ESRI ARCView software. Prior experience using ESRI ArcMap required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#google-earth-introduction\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Google Earth Introduction<\/b><\/a><br \/>\nCome learn to play with Google Earth. Find your house, use sketch up 3-D models, and more!<\/p>\n<h4>Research Design &amp; Publishing<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left:30px\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/webapps.library.nyu.edu\/classes\/#atlas-ti-introduction\" target=\"_blank\">ATLAS.ti Introduction<br \/>\n<\/a><\/b>An introduction to the qualitative software package Atlas.ti, a versatile workbench for the qualitative analysis of textual, graphical, audio, and video data.
