{"id":623,"date":"2016-09-26T08:56:04","date_gmt":"2016-09-26T12:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/data-services.hosting.nyu.edu\/?p=623"},"modified":"2017-10-20T16:33:32","modified_gmt":"2017-10-20T20:33:32","slug":"nyu-libraries-adds-india-national-sample-survey-organization-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/data-services.hosting.nyu.edu\/nyu-libraries-adds-india-national-sample-survey-organization-data\/","title":{"rendered":"NYU Libraries Adds India National Sample Survey Organization Data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, NYU Libraries and Data Services acquired a series of data from India&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Sample_Survey_Organisation\">National Sample\u00a0Survey Office<\/a>, which is a program of the <a href=\"http:\/\/pib.nic.in\/newsite\/erelease.aspx?relid=80823\">Ministry of Statistics<\/a>. The data we have added span the years of 1987- 2014 and cover core indicators like consumer\u00a0expenditure, literacy and culture, participation in education, manufacturing, and more. The data is updated to adhere to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ddialliance.org\/\">DDI standard<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/data-services.hosting.nyu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/24-nsso.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-624 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/data-services.hosting.nyu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/24-nsso-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"24-nsso\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>If you are a member of the NYU community, you can access the data by searching in the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.nyu.edu\/handle\/2451\/33611\">Data Services Collection in the\u00a0Faculty Digital Archive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this recently acquired data, we have digitized older editions of India census data from 2001 as well. This data is available in the Faculty Digital Archive Data Services collection.
